today I went to visit a girlfriend of mine. I picked up lunch for us and brought her some fresh flowers..hopefully to make her smile. her dog who you see in the photo below is battling a rare type of cancer and there isn’t much time left..she has had Jake for as long as I have known her..10 years and I know the heartache she is going through. about 4 years ago I lost my own beloved dog who meant the world to me and Jake and him were fast friends..always running around getting into trouble together, like two peas in a pod those two were. so I understand the sadness she is experiencing..but today wasn’t sad. no, today was happy because he was having a good day, running around playing fetch and stuffing as many toys in his mouth as he could, tail wagging all the way, just being Jake. so my advice today is go and enjoy the sun, smell the flowers go to lunch with one of your girlfriends. sometimes that is the best medicine of all. and don’t forget to give your beloved dog a big wet kiss and hug.
